Your role at St John of God St John of God Ballarat Hospital You will be responsible for all electrical work carried out at the Hospital.The Maintenance Electrician must have a working knowledge of the Australian Standards relevant to the Health Industry and ensure that all electrical work is carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with current regulations.The PositionMaintenance of electrical and mechanically based plant and equipment within the hospital in accordance with the planned maintenance schedules, work requests system and statutory requirements.Respond promptly to work requests that may come verbally from the Facility Services Manager, through requisition forms, or in emergency situations by telephone, and discuss any delays with the Facility Services Manager.Attend to requisitions in order of priority as allocated in MEX. Generally, a patient's comfort and safety is given the highest priority.Oversee the installation of new plant and equipment including associated wiring, and amend drawings when necessary.Be an active member of the engineering department core team and foster the concepts of continuous improvement.Over sea & maintain the hospital Alarm system & the hospital Access control systemsPerform statutory electrical test in accordance with the relevant compliance codes.Regular testing of emergency power generators in conjunction with Risk Management Department.Repair and maintenance of Building Management system & electronic control of air conditioning units.Acceptance and in-service testing of electrical/electronic equipment.You will hold an "A" Grade Electrician licence, with knowledge of Australian Standards including but not limited to, AS2500, AS3000, AS3003, AS3009, and AS3200. To be successful, you will have avidity to work well in a team environment and be an effective team member, and well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to others in a professional manner. Experience in the Health Care industry, preferably within a hospital setting, is highly regarded.Above all, patient care will be at the core of everyting you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
