Maintenance Electrician - afternoon Shift

Our tasty Value-Added range of fresh meal options is quite simply unmatched, which is why we supply the majority of supermarkets in this important retail sector. We are seeking for an Electrician to assist our maintenance team at our Girraween site. 

We currently have a permanent opportunity for a newly created role of Maintenance Electrician at our Girraween Plant. Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrician to join our Maintenance team responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of electrical jobs.

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, with a strong focus on a preventative approach
• Develop equipment setup standards as required
• Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems, procedures and maintenance
• Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment
• Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment daily, 
• Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, health and environment
• Identify and correct equipment faults by applying root cause analysis, Knowledge troubleshooting and problem solving
• Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant

Qualifications and Experience 

• Have strong communication skills 
• Hold valid NSW Electrical licence
• Have hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining automated equipment such as conveyors &etc
• Industrial OR FMCG manufacturing experience required(minimum of 5 years’ experience desired)
• Have general computer skills with specific experience in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, e.g. MEX, Maximo, etc
• Demonstrate PLC experience, preferably Siemens S7, Danfoss, SEW or AB knowledge
• SCADA knowledge is desired and considered an advantage 
• Able to interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Able to work under pressure and follow procedures
• Be physically fit for completing manual handling tasks
• Able to focus on and prioritise the customer needs and requirements
• Experience in fault finding and diagnosing
• A sound understanding of Electrical Standards and Regulations
• A valid Australian Driver’s Licence is essential
