As part of HBT Australia, Waratah Engineering, Argenton is a leading manufacturer of underground mining equipment. We manufacture and support custom-built mining equipment such as shuttle cars, feeder breakers and multi-bolters as well as offering bespoke remanufacturing services for other underground equipment.
About the role:
The Electrician’s purpose is to complete electrical trade activities in the workshop or field to install, modify, inspect, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring and equipment for irrigation systems in order to meet customer requirements in line with industry codes and practices, and company standards, policies and procedures.
The Electrician’s key Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose faults, report findings and determine actions to rectify issues
- Apply skills set to perform allocated work to the required standards within agreed timeframes and following job instructions, company procedures and processes.
- reading and interpreting schematics and reference materials
This may include:
- planning the layout and installation of electrical apparatus and wiring
- assembling, modifying and installing electrical apparatus and wiring
- testing electrical systems and circuits
- repairing and replacing electrical equipment and wiring
- inspecting transformers, circuit breakers and other components
- operating hand and power tools, and testing equipment
- Maintain equipment, tools and work area / company assets
- Direct and mentor trades assistants and apprentices where required
- Achieve chargeable labour recovery and work centre recovery targets
- Liaise with customers and suppliers when required
- Perform work safely and comply with WHS procedures
Qualifications:
- Trade skills and knowledge of electrical repair and installation procedures
Skills & experience:
- Able to diagnose and resolve electrical equipment and installation issues
- Able to read and interpret schematics and reference material
- Able to prepare and plan for jobs
- Good mathematical calculation skills
- Attention to detail
