We are currently seeking an Electronic Repair Technician who is a self-starter and who is already a competent tech - can solder, SMD rework but also someone who can read a schematic and follow the signal through to find out where it's getting lost, compare it to a working board and so on.
It would advantageous to have the ability to see damage to a circuit and hypothesise what might have happened to it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Diagnosis of faults - sometimes picked up by automated test hardware, sometimes not (eg intermittent faults)
- Repair, rework of devices to rectify faults
- Entering fault details, rework details into a database for tracking and statistical purposes
- Suggesting potential causes of faults to stop them from recurring
ADVANTAGEOUS
- A background and interest in modified performance cars, tuning / ECU setup background
- Any other embedded system skills (programming, circuit design, PCB layout, etc)
ABOUT YOU
- Good English and communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills (scientific method etc, be able to read a schematic diagram, use software to find the location on the PCB)
- Excellent hand soldering / rework skills (must be able to rework a TSSOP or QFP, QFN etc)
- Good all-round computer skills
