We are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team to bolster our engineering and operations following the successful commercialisation of two proprietary solutions, Nero & HubX. This new position will report to the Hardware Manager.

Embedded Systems Engineer Responsibilities

  • Lead PCB layout and design projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Develop, validate, and debug firmware for embedded devices such as ESP32, Raspberry Pi, etc., using C/C++ and Python programming languages.
  • Implement sensor interfacing, data acquisition, and signal processing techniques to optimise device functionality and performance.
  • Integrate IoT solutions using MQTT and Node-RED, leveraging expertise in IoT integration and development.
  • Demonstrate hands-on soldering and hardware prototyping skills, including surface mount device (SMD) soldering, for building and testing prototypes and production units.
  • Utilise knowledge of networking and communication protocols to facilitate data exchange between IoT devices and cloud services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in PCB layout and design, handling projects from start to finish.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming languages for software development on embedded devices.
  • Experience in sensor interfacing, data acquisition, and signal processing.
  • Strong understanding of IoT integration and development, including MQTT and Node-RED.
  • Demonstrated hands-on soldering and hardware prototyping skills, including SMD soldering.
  • Knowledge of networking and communication protocols for seamless data exchange.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
