The Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within Access and Flow Unit to join us as Emergency Management Coordinator (ASO8) on an ongoing, full-time basis.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing, reviewing, managing and monitoring of all aspects of the WCHN Emergency Management program including business continuity planning.
  • Managing and overseeing the coordination of training and education programs for staff involved in emergency responses (including fire and security management) and business continuity.
  • Managing and overseeing testing and evaluation of procedures, plans and responses in line with statutory and accreditation requirements.
  • Actively leading critical incident/emergency responses.
  • Representing WCHN on State-wide Emergency and Business Continuity Groups.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction, exercise significant levels of independent judgement and delegated authority to determine goals and priorities.
  • Extensive experience in using contemporary project management principles in leading, developing and managing concurrent emergency response projects/programs.
  • Detailed knowledge of best practice in relation to emergency / disaster management principles.
