Why this role matters The Salvation Army Doorways program provides person-centred care to community members who are in a financial crisis or suffering other forms of hardship or distress. Our practitioners are mindful of trauma informed practices, working within a strength-based context with holistic principles to build individual capacity, resilience, and well-being.
About the role We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Emergency Relief Assessor, where you will be responsible for assessing community member needs and determining appropriate financial assistance (Emergency Relief) and/or referrals. Key responsibilities Conduct interviews and assessment for Emergency Relief (ER) with community members in accordance with Doorways guidelines Determine the assistance to be provided in line with Doorways standards of practice Community members are assisted to access support services through referral and advocacy to service providers within and external to
The Salvation Army, where appropriate Escalate complex or unresolved matters Accurate, up-to-date client records and data is maintained for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures, using all relevant TSA systems including SAMIS Risks to community members, staff and TSA are identified and brought to the attention of the relevant Line Manager as soon as possible Service gaps are identified and recommendations for service delivery improvements are made to the relevant Line Manager This is a permanent full-time role located in Alice Springs, NT. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 3 Award.
