Form of workNX Blue are currently recruiting for and taking Expressions of Interest for Permanent First Responders as part of Emergency Response Team. DIDO/ FIFO, Roster 14:7, fully accommodated. Snowy 2.0 Project in the Snowy Monaro Region.
$49-$54 Plus Penalties, Plus Project Allowance of $6 Per/hr, Plus $4.77 a day first Aid Allowance, Plus Super.
12hr days. 14:7 Roster.
Roles and responsibilities:
Members of Emergency Response Teams should be and will be thoroughly trained for potential emergencies. They must be and remain physically capable of always carrying out their duties; They will be trained and in a state of readiness to know how to deal with various site emergencies such as Fires, toxic hazards, vehicle Accidents, Tunnelling Emergencies and be able to judge when to evacuate personnel or depend on outside help, in addition to the following.
- Firefighting and rescue duties and coordination of site emergencies
- Emergency First Aid, fire prevention and other incident response services
- Delivery of and participation in briefings
- Maintenance and checking of gas monitors, emergency equipment, site response vehicles, rescue tools, etc
- Training and management of the volunteer Emergency Response Team
- Maintain training records, vehicle and equipment maintenance logs.
- Conduct checks of fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and other first response fire fighting equipment.
- Conduct drills and training exercises as per site requirements, complete reports and provide after action reviews.
- Ongoing First aid and training, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
- Shutdown procedures.
- Chemical spill control procedures.
- Search and emergency rescue procedures and planning
- Hazardous materials Emergency Response.
- Evacuation Procedures.
- Construction Safety Training (White/Blue Card) – Essential)
- Project approved Medical and Drug and Alcohol test
- Minimum MR- Class Driver License
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue (or working towards)
- Or Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations) (or working towards)
- Confined Space Rescue / PUASAR025 / 3 year Renewal
- 4 wheel drive driver training - (Required to drive on site)
- PUAFIR207 Operate Breathing Apparatus open circuit.
- PUASAR025 Undertake Confined Space Rescue
- PUASAR032 Undertake Vertical Rescue
- PUASAR024 Undertake Road Crash Rescue
- A primary focus on WHS in the workplace
- Ability to offer a high level of service to the organisation.
- Training as a Mines Rescue Cadet
- Previous underground or Tunnelling experience in a similar role

- High level of interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to self-manage and be time efficient.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure to working in the emergency services industry and providing emergency support.
- Ability to operate efficiently independently and in a team environment, especially under stressful and time critical situations.
- Underground, experience preferred. Experience in tunnel constructions and works highly desired.
- Surface and/or Underground rescue experience preferred.
- Must be able to work 2 weeks on 1 week off FIFO or DIDO roster.
