About the role:

The impact of the global pandemic on jobs in Australia generally, and especially for youth and women has been significant. Research indicates that local communities are best placed to develop and deliver local solutions to local issues. The Local Jobs Program is a place-based approach to support economic recovery by delivering training and employment solutions to address regional priorities. 

Employment Facilitatorsare dedicated individuals who work to connect local job seekers in specific regions with training, job opportunities and other support. As part of their role, Employment Facilitators chair Local Jobs and Skills Taskforces, and work with local stakeholders including employers, employment services providers, and training organisations to drive the development of a Local Jobs Plan.


The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • High-level written and oral communication skills (including the ability to write in a way that meets a wide variety of business communication needs) and the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and sensitively at all levels, both with internal and external stakeholders
  • A high degree of professionalism and judgment with the ability to maintain high confidentiality.
  • Experience in local community programs, training programs, or industry.
  • High-level administrative skills and computer literacy.
  • Proactive approach to developing and enhancing local employment solutions.
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Sound analytical skills and an ability to work with discretion.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and self-management skills and proven capacity to work across a varied team within a fluid and dynamic environment with limited supervision.
  • Support productive relationships with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently and with people of all levels.
  • High-level attention to detail, maintaining a flexible and resourceful approach to effectively multi-task and manage workload.

In accordance with are-able's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, this role requires staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Successful candidates are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status as a condition of employment.
