About The Role:
Our client is a renewable energy developer who has a great track record of developing and managing utility scale renewable projects. The business is based in Melbourne and are looking for an Energy Storage Lead. As the Energy Storage Lead, you'll drive the charge in developing and executing our client's strategy for Energy storage projects. From scouting out opportunities to navigating complex technical requirements, you'll be instrumental in shaping our client's footprint in the dynamic Australian renewable energy market.
The Role:
- Lead our client's Energy storage initiatives in Australia, crafting a winning strategy for success.
- Provide local legislation and regulation requirements to the Energy storage engineering and procurement business
- Identify and secure promising project opportunities through strategic partnerships and keen market insights.
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of Australia-specific battery Energy storage service stacking and revenue streams (e.g. ancillary services, capacity market, network services, arbitrage on spot and balancing markets, wind/PV co-location services)
- Be a key project team member in permitting and grid connection processes of Energy storage project development and support the grid team in the dialogue with grid companies to assess Energy storage technical requirements.
- Negotiate innovative route-to-market agreements alongside our client's talented teams.
- Foster critical relationships with industry experts and stakeholders, establishing our client as a leader in Australian renewable energy.
Experience Required:
- A commercial maestro with a passion for renewables and a proven track record in the Energy storage sector.
- Experience at least 5 years in the battery Energy storage business with a focus on commercial solutions for large scale projects (>20 MWh).
- Deep insight into the overall battery Energy storage business value chain, competition and commercial drivers.
- Strong engineering background with deep insight into power systems, ancillary services and energy market landscape.
- Exceptional communication skills and a talent for bridging technical complexities with business objectives.
- A proactive, results-driven mindset with a knack for thriving in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
- Deep technical expertise and a network of contacts within the Australian renewable energy community.
