A newly created opportunity for our underground operations in Narrabri as Decarbonisation Engineer. You will be responsible for GHG emissions mapping including modelling, monitoring, reporting and verification of scope 1 and scope 2 emissions form all operations at the Mine.
Key responsibilities in this exciting role are:
Present and recommend potential emission reduction options to the mine's senior leadership with a view of implementing those potential options onsiteDevelop a practical roadmap for lower emission operations by the identification of alternative technology and process options, mapping them against cost to prioritise benefitsProject manage the procurement, installation and change management of technical and engineering solutions implementedComplete internal and external GHG emissions reporting including reporting on the federal safeguard mechanismLiaise with Mine personnel to supply information and technical advice on an as needed basis for any potential group wide GHG reduction programsDevelop budgets for any projects being managed as required
What we are looking for
A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mining or Mechanical EngineerExperience in the underground coal mining industry is preferredSolid knowledge of the various state, federal, and mine consent condition requirements with regard to GHG emissions including reporting and minimisationExposure to gas drainage and ventilation managementPrevious experience with engineering design projectsBe motivated, driven, self-directed and focused
