We are looking for an inspiring and passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our Cape Lambert Maintenance Planning and Engineering (MP&E) team. In this vital role, you will provide technical direction and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle and provide expert advice across maintenance and reliability engineering processes at our Cape Lambert Ports operation.

You'll be able to steer engineering fundamentals to improve business performance and deliver high-value outcomes while supporting the operation and maintenance team. We're looking for you to bring a diversity of thought and experience, so we welcome experience from any industry.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer of Maintenance, Planning & Engineering, you will be:

  • Providing technical advice to the maintenance and operations teams and connecting our central asset specialists to our site operations
  • Lead and manage important site improvement projects to optimise plant reliability, availability and maintainability.
  • Providing engineering assistance for procurement of new assets/components.
  • Managing change management processes relating to fixed plant maintenance activities.
  • Identifying, generating and reporting on plant changes and improvement initiatives.
  • Leading and supporting failure investigations and plant performance analysis.

Maintenance Planning and Engineering (MP&E) Maintenance Planning and Engineering (MP&E) is a division within Operational and Technical Support (OTS). MP&E comprises more than 600 people working across central and regional teams. With more than 46,000 physical assets across the Pilbara, MP&E ensures the optimal balance of risk, cost and performance over the asset lifecycle.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in an operation, maintenance, engineering or reliability role within any heavy industry
  • The ability to be flexible, adaptable and resilient
  • Project management skills with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, including project scoping, planning, execution and contractor management
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, Regulations, Acts and Codes of Practice
  • A strong focus towards safety and safe work practices
  • Experience in equipment failure investigation using root cause analysis techniques
  • C Class Driver's License
