AddressEngineering and Design Manager
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled civil construction Engineering and Design Manager to join our growing team. As Engineering and Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing all permanent and temporary works design activities across multiple construction projects, ensuring that all design work is completed in accordance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations. You will collaborate closely with our Client representatives, project managers, internal engineers, external Engineering Service providers, and our constructors to ensure timely and cost-effective temporary and permanent design delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee permanent and temporary works design activities across multiple construction projects
- Collaborate with project managers, internal and external engineers, and constructors to ensure timely and effective design delivery
- Lead the strategy and procurement of consultants and design partners.
- Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
- Drive design innovation, value engineering and best practice.
- Further develop and implement our design progress and control system
- Develop and maintain project design schedules and budgets
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
- Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues
- Identify and resolve design-related issues and escalate issues to senior management as needed
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status, including potential risks and opportunities
- Manage the design process, including design development, design review, and design approval
- Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in the engineering or construction industry
- Experience with structural design
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
- Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with codes of practise and standards
Desirable
- Experience in Bridge, Marine, Foundation piles and/or temporary works design and construction
- Technical design experience in a related field
- Experience with scheduling software
- Experience with Procore, Aconex and similar document management systems
