About the Role:
Based at our Brisbane office, we are currently seeking suitably qualified and energetic Engineering Manager from a Process Engineering background.
The Engineering Manager, East Coast is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the East Coast engineering team including leading the process engineering team and reviewing and approving applicable process engineering deliverables. The Engineering Manager, East Coast will coordinate these activities in liaison with the GM of Engineering, Principal and Lead Engineers and other discipline leads and will ensure that relevant project technical requirements, budget and schedule objectives are maintained. The Lead Process Engineer will be required to liaise with clients and their vendors and contractors and manage Enscope sub-contractor’s as applicable to the project requirements
The ideal candidate will have great leadership skills and 10 - 15 years’ experience previous process engineering experience in the gas and energy engineering and construction sector, and experience on facilities construction and commissioning projects, major EPC projects and/or Infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
To be successful, you will preferably have experience working as part of a multidisciplined team in oil and gas or petrochemical projects and studies.
Design Engineering
- Manage a team of 5 - 10 multi disciplined engineers
- Engineering input and checking of design deliverables
- Check or approve engineering tasks within the allocated timeframe to the specified quality level
- Check or Approve PDF’s, Heat and Mass Balance, P&ID’s, Equipment Lists, Datasheets
- Check or Approve plant equipment process design parameters including Hysys inputs and outputs, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, vessels etc
- Check or Approve engineering calculations including pipe sizing, PSV’s equipment sizing, calculation
- Participate in concept and select studies, HAZOP’s, HAZID, SIL/LOPA, FAT’s, SAT’s
- Preparation or overseeing technical documentation
- Commissioning documentation checking and approval
- Support development of process engineers, including training and career development
- Provide technical engineering advice and support
- Liaison with clients and suppliers
- Procurement and package engineering support
- Participation in HAZOP and other technical risk assessments
- Familiarity with the relevant Australian and International Standards,
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively and to hard deadlines,
Essential Qualities and Background
- Degree qualifications in Process Engineering with minimum 10 years' post graduate experience in an aligned industry, preferably oil and gas or Petrochemical projects.
- Demonstrated experience in a management role and as a people leader
- Experience in an engineering technical leadership, project management, proposal development, plus building capability in the business to meet current and future demands.
- Strong computer literacy skills with advanced knowledge of MS applications.
- Knowledge of Aspen Hysys software package
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively and to hard deadlines.
- Adaptability to be able to work directly from project or client's offices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal & external stakeholders.
