Engineering Pre-Apprenticeship Program EOI

The Opportunity

This Engineering Pre-Apprenticeship Program is designed for individuals who are out of work and seeking employment and offers a pathway into the Manufacturing Industry, specifically geared towards those aiming to begin an apprenticeship.

Program Includes:

• No program costs 
• PPE will be provided
• A pathway to a future career
• Completion of 6 units of competency from the Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (over 3 weeks):

1. Use hand tools
2. Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
3. Undertake manual handling
4. Organise and communicate information
5. Use power tools/hand held operations
6. Work safely and effectively in manufacturing and engineering

• Industry Immersion days/work experience (post completion of above units)
• On completion of program, participants are interviewed by MIGAS Recruitment and Employment Team for possible employment opportunities.

Key Dates:

• Applications close Friday 26 April 2024

Program Duration:

• 7 to 28 May 2024 + Industry Site Tours/Work Experience

Who Should Apply?

Individuals who are not currently employed seeking an entry point into an apprenticeship, who are eager to learn, develop new skills, and possess a motivated, positive attitude, including those who have been unsuccessful in previous apprenticeship applications. 

This program is not available for school students.
