Enhanced Family Support Practitioner

1 x Permanent Full Time

1 x Temporary Part Time until June 2025 - 19 hours per week

Location: various locations across Latrobe City

Full Time: $91,663.12 to $99,412.18 plus 11% superannuation

Part Time: $46.38 - $50.30 per hour + 11% Superannuation

Latrobe City Council has opportunities for an Enhanced Family Support Practitioner to join our Family Services Department.

About the role

Our Enhanced Family Support Practitioner works with parents and carers to improve the health and wellbeing of children by providing focused and intensive support for vulnerable families, those experiencing significant early parenting difficulties and children identified as being at risk of poor outcomes.

Early intervention and support for families is essential in achieving positive outcomes, you will support families to overcome challenges, through emotional, health and wellbeing support, advocacy and referral pathways. You will walk with families as they engage in community services and activities.

About You

For this role, we are seeking someone who is passionate about early childhood development with the ability to relate and build relationships with a diverse range of clients and services across the municipality. You will have the ability to work constructively within a multidisciplinary team, developing collaborative relationships to provide support for families.

You will have:

  • Registration with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or have completed an Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA) accredited course.
  • A Diploma or above qualification in Children's Services, Early Childhood Development, Community Services, or relevant field.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable families with children in the 0-6 years.
  • Sound knowledge of early childhood development, family functioning and parenting issues.
  • Strong focus on accountability and extent of authority, judgement and decision making skills.
  • Sound risk assessment skills including but not limited to, child safety risk, family violence, risk, psychological distress, and mandatory reporting
  • An ability to work with a diverse range of people, and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A current driver's licence
