Mater Private Hospital Redlands is currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Enrolled Nurse to join our team. You will be working within Day Oncology, a part of the Redlands Mater Cancer Care Centre. Exciting opportunity for an experience oncology or brand-new EN interested in oncology nursing. We have a highly skilled team and encourage junior nurses and all levels to apply.
This is a unique opportunity as we can accommodate flexibility, providing a roster that suits you. The successful candidates will secure Permanent Part-Time employment of hours of a minimum of 0.6. The unit is open from Monday- Friday, opening at 8:30am and closing at 5:30pm.
Mater Private Redlands MCCC aims to offer all patients, regardless of their level of health insurance cover, access to a modern state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive and compassionate care that is individually personalised. The Cancer Centre includes consultation rooms, cancer care treatment pods, palliative care, support programs and a specialised pharmacy.
Salary range: $34.84 - $37.10 (Enrolled Nurse) per hour + superannuation + Salary Packaging up to $15,900
What you’ll be doing
Whilst maintaining the highest level of clinical standards for the unit, responsibilities for this role include:
- Contribute to achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the Patients' Cancer journey
- Coordination of Public Clinics and patient flow
- Ensuring clinical documentation is prepared and provided to the specialist doctors as required
- Clinic room preparation
- Managing outpatient appointments and fail to attends in line with SOSIS
- Clinical assessment and management of unwell patients in the clinic area, with NUM, CN and Team Leader support
- Triaging and escalation of patient phone calls requiring symptom review
- Provide patient education in line with current scope of practice
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

Other skills and experience include:
- Current AHPRA nursing registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
- Experience working in Cancer Care Nursing (desirable not essential)
- Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
