What you'll be doing
The Access and Referral Centre (ARC) is the single point of access for referrals to ISLHD Health Services. The Enrolled Nurse/Intake Officer will provide timely information and process referrals. Effectively this will assist patients, staff and community to navigate the health service system, and enable more effective transition across the Acute/ Community/ Aged Care Interface. The ARC promotes a “no wrong door” philosophy.
The position will also be responsible to facilitate referrals for telephone coaching services and will provide the initial client identification, screening, registration and contact. These service elements will be conducted over the telephone. The position will be located within the Access and Referral Centre.
Temporary Full Time and Part Time leave relief positions until April/May 2024 with the possibility of extension.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria * Current NSW Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.

  • Experience in undertaking comprehensive assessment.
  • Effective communication skills which include listening, verbal, written with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to plan organise workloads and demonstrate decision making skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer based systems including EMR and Microsoft Products.
  • Knowledge of ISLHD and community Based services (including Non-Government Agencies servicing the ISLHD).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
