Enrolled Nurse - Central Sterilising Department

The Opportunity  The Enrolled Nurse demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and is responsible for his/her actions and accountable for the delegated nursing care provided.

The Townsville University Hospital Central Sterilising Department provides decontamination and sterilisation of instruments and trays used within the Operating Theatres, wards/hospital departments, and external clients.  Central Sterilising Department also supports other Central Sterilising Departments within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Employment Term

• Fixed Term Temporary full-time and part-time, up to 12 months
  (multiple positions available, hours variable).

Role requirements

• Qualification: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. 
• Successful completion of Certificate III in Sterilisation from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent. If qualification has not been completed, the successful applicant will have 12 months to complete the qualification as a condition of their employment. 
• Please note: As this is a short term temporary vacancy, while the preference is for the successful candidate to have completed or be working towards completion of the Certificate III in Sterilisation Services this is not a mandatory requirement for appointment.

Generous remuneration package value up to $83,993 (full-time) p.a.comprising:

• Salary rates between $2650.90 - $2813.40 p.f. (full-time) and $34.88 - $37.01 p.h. (part-time) (NG3)
