About The Opportunity
Fairfield Hospital Chronic and Complex Care Service is recruiting for an enthusiastic Enrolled Nurse to join the team. This role covers the Day Surgery Unit as well as Outpatient area within the responsibility of the NUM. This a progressive team committed to providing quality care for patients in inpatient and outpatients services. Ambulatory Care covers the outpatients service as well as the pre-operative and day only service.
The Successful candidates will have an opportunity to develop a vast range of clinical and assessment skills that will assist them in furthering their careers. They will gain leadership experience and learn to work autonomously whilst accessing structured support when required. Fairfield Hospital are recruiting an Enrolled Nurse to complement and enrich the current team.
The South Western Sydney Hand Centre (“Fairfield Hand Clinic”) provides specialised hand surgery and hand therapy service within the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) for management of all hands, wrist and forearm disorders/injuries.
The clinic consists of a multidisciplinary team which includes Hand Surgical Consultants, Plastic Surgical Registrars, Nurses with wound care expertise, Hand Therapist within a dedicated treatment room and Administration Support Staff. This clinic predominantly manages acute conditions such as Fractures and soft tissue injuries of the hand and wrist, wounds to the hand and upper limb Infections and tumours (excluding benign cysts, ganglions, lipoma etc.)
The nurses at the South Western Sydney Hand Centre have specialised skills in treating simple to complex hand injuries. Nurses work within the multidisciplinary team with hand surgeons, hand therapist, and liaise closely with community nurses to facilitate rehabilitation after an injury or surgery. Patients are referred for management of their hand injuries and wounds directly through the South Western Sydney Hand Centre after their review with a hand surgeon. What you'll be doing
The Enrolled Nurse works with the registered nurse or midwife as part of the health care team and demonstrates competence in the provision of safe, compassionate, quality person-centered care.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Current Authority to Practice as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2), General with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Demonstrated recent experience as an Enrolled Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
