Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit (GEM)
Multiple Positions
Permanent full time or part time hours available
About the role
The Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit provides assessment and rehabilitation for patients within a 24-bed facility. This position is working within a multi-disciplinary team of medical nursing and allied health.
In this role you would be dealing with a variety of patients recovering from a stroke, orthopaedic surgery, dementia and other health conditions where function has declined requiring rehabilitation to assist with regaining function and discharge planning to the next appropriate location of care.
The staff in GEM work closely in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best practice standards of patient care and service delivery that meets the needs and preference of our patients, families and carers.
As a member of staff, you will be supported and empowered to deliver inpatient services, ensuring education, training and clinical competence meets the requirements of the clinical specialities across the inpatient services and must have the availability to work across all shifts including morning, afternoons, evenings and nights over a 7-day week by roster.

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024. The classification is Enrolled Nurse Grade 2 (IB68 - IB72) which ranges from $33.83 - $36.00 per hour.
All appointments are subject to a satisfactory police records check, immunisation clearance and Working with Children check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
All employees must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required, which at a minimum is a surgical mask. Additional PPE requirements are role-dependent.
