Cessnock District Hospital
In this role, you will join a team dedicated to delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients, with a strong focus on supporting their families throughout their healthcare journey. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients' health needs, developing personalised care plans, and implementing them effectively. Collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Team will be crucial to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Successful candidates will receive support from the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) and Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), with access to after-hours assistance from a CNE. Day-to-day tasks will encompass direct patient care such as feeding and showering, accepting transfers from other facilities, coordinating discharges to nursing homes, and liaising with discharge planners or home caregivers when appropriate. Effective communication with and support for families will also be a significant aspect of your role.

- Cessnock is located only a short distance away from the Hunter Valley vineyards and is the administrative centre of the City of Cessnock Local Government Area. It is a vibrant town, surrounded by countryside and full of affordable dinning and accommodation and home to the Cessnock District Hospital.
- It is a 64-bed facility that provides emergency, surgical and general medical care to the area’s growing population. They have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Enrolled Nurse to join their team, working within our Surgical & Medical wards, each containing 16 beds.

- You will have excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating positive, effective working relationships and possess the ability to adapt to different communication styles as well as able to communicate sensitively with patients and their families/carers.
- You will have strong time management and organisational skills for this dynamic environment.
