Testimonials from current Enrolled Nurses working at John Hunter Hospital:
“When I commenced at JHH years ago as an EN, the EN coordinator at the time would make it a priority to check in on the ENs across the hospital. This made me feel extremely supported and facilitated my professional development, particularly as I wasn’t even a part of the transition program. I feel like he went out of his way to come and support the EN’s across JHH. Team culture on the ward is fantastic, especially on the ward where I work now. The NUM is extremely supportive, flexible, and approachable. She always does her best to facilitate work/life balance and makes me feel supported and encouraged to do my best work. The learning opportunities I’ve had at JHH, compared to Aged care are incredible. The variety of different patients we get the opportunity to care for every day is amazing. If I ever feel out of depth, my colleagues or NUM will call the education team to come and support me. For example: if I have a rapid response or a deteriorating patient, they will help support me through this, to ensure that I stay on track with my workload. Overall, my experience and the learning opportunities at the JHH are fantastic.”
