An opportunity has arisen to work for Naracoorte Health Service in our Theatre Department providing high quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with the provision of professional high quality patient care at Naracoorte Health Service.
• Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team, you will implement appropriate nursing care and assist with general and specialised procedures from nursing care plans. 
• Plan and prioritise your own work program to achieve defined outcomes and exercise judgment when it is required to solve problems arising in your work area.
• Provide verbal and documented information within your scope of practice to patients, other health care team members, and members of the public, and contribute to your professional expertise by maintaining ongoing personal professional development and continuing education through a portfolio of post-enrolment learning.
• Work with the aged, children, youth, women and their families where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration or other incidents and escalating appropriately
• Provide evidenced based care, developing clinical skills while keeping up to date with professional standards of practice and quality management initiatives consistent with organisational policies

This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight over a 5 day roster and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.

Eligibility

You must be Enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Holding Certificate III in Sterilisation Services will be highly regarded or willingness to study this course with support from Limestone Coast LHN.

Naracoorte Health Service is part of the Upper Southeast Health Services and Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN). Our facility includes 39 public beds, six-day surgery beds, two operating theatres, same day and overnight stay, specialist consulting rooms, youth health, plus a residential aged care unit in Moreton Bay House that accommodates 11 State-funded aged care beds and 30 Commonwealth aged care beds.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.
