As an Entry Level Chemical Process Technician, this role will be responsible for operating and monitoring chemical production equipment and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the production line. Your primary focus will be on maintaining production rates, quality control, and adhering to safety protocols and procedures.

The role...

  • Operate and monitor chemical production equipment, including pumps, valves, reactors, and control systems, to ensure the smooth operation of the chemical line.

  • Perform quality control tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality specifications and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents, spills, and other incidents. Report any safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment which includes ensuring all equipment are washed down or packed away at the end of each task or shift.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as engineers, maintenance technicians, and quality assurance personnel, to troubleshoot issues and improve process efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to optimise productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, such as environmental regulations and quality standards.

About you...

  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to chemical handling and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and ability to perform basic laboratory tests.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
