Environmental Advisor
As a result of our continued growth after securing the Hexham Straight Widening project, we are seeking an Environmental Graduate to join our project team and make a valuable contribution to this major infrastructure upgrade in the Hunter region. Aside from being a part of a $2.1 billion development, The six-kilometer upgrade of the Pacific Highway near Newcastle will involve widening each carriageway from 2 lanes to 3, as well as constructing two new 5-span plank bridges over Ironbark Creek, adjacent to the Hunter River.
This role will be key in ensuring onsite implementation of the environmental management system requirements, the measurement of environmental compliance and driving high performance and environmental awareness on the project. You will also have the opportunities to provide technical support on significant environmental aspects, manage multiple environmental consultants, and liaise with the client and relevant stakeholders. Your duties involve:
- Developing, maintaining and ongoing supporting the Environment and/or Sustainability Management plan, processes and system elements
- Providing advice on environmental aspects such as contamination, erosion and sediment control, heritage, ecology, waste management, noise and vibration.
- Applying for and managing any required environmental permits and approvals, Providing project team with awareness of legal compliance requirements
- Recording all relevant environmental data and compile reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring that the project complies with Georgiou HSEQ systems, policies, standards and procedures
What you're good at:
Aside from having relevant qualifications in environmental science or related discipline and similar role experience, you should have similar experience in environmental management on civil infrastructure projects or equivalent and ideally have:
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, and Federal and State Environment Acts & Regulations
- Ideally Demonstrated training and experience in Blue Books 1 & 2D Erosion and Sedimentation Control
