About the Opportunity
Council is looking for an Environmental Health Coordinator to lead the Environmental Health Section to deliver effective Environmental Health, Local Laws and Animal Control services, and that delivery in that area protects and enhances community standards for the WDRC community.
This position is based in Dalby.
Reporting to the Planning and Environment Manager, you will be:
- An effective operational lead for Council's Environmental Health and Animal Management programs;
- Improving community compliance proactively and without solely relying on regulatory tools;
- Leading a small team to achieve positive outcomes;
- Gaining the support of customers, providers and regulators;
- Reducing costs through service improvements, contract refinement and service level reviews;
- Systematically improving financial, licencing and customer service systems;
About yourself
The successful applicant will have:
- Understanding and interpreting relevant legislations;
- Understanding of high level technical knowledge regarding the underlying principles behind Environmental Health, local laws and animal management;
- taking a business-like approach to service delivery;
- the ability to make effective decisions in the absence of complete information;
