We are offering an opportunity for a Environmental Health Officer to join our team who enjoys contact with the community and working with a committed team to contribute to the safety and amenity of our community.
This role is accountable for performing the activities of an authorized officer under the provisions of the Food Act, Public Health and Wellbeing Act, Tobacco Act, Environment Protection Act and any other health legislation applicable to this role. As a authorised officer the focus is on minimising public health and environmental hazards to protect the health of residents within our municipality.
About youYou will have a Diploma or Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health), and eligible to join Environmental Health Professionals Australia. Good knowledge of the relevant public health legislation and the ability to assess and interpret such legislation and the underlying legal principles. You will have the ability to build positive relationships with a team and with a diverse Community, as well as the ability to competently write reports and associated documents. A Drivers license is required for to perform this role.
