Apprentices and Trainees Queensland invites expressions of interest for a Carpentry Apprenticeship based in Rockhampton. This opportunity is open to candidates interested in either full-time or School-based apprenticeships. Second, third and fourth-year candidates are welcome to apply.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of duties, such as:
- Cleaning and maintaining a safe work environment
- Assisting with measuring, cutting, and shaping materials
- Following safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Observing and learning basic carpentry techniques from experienced carpenters
- Learning to properly use and maintain hand and power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders.
Desirable Experience:
- Current White Card (or willing to obtain)
- Current Driver’s Licence (essential)
- Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent (desirable)
- Ability to obtain employment medicals as required
Personal Attributes:
- Mature and self-motivated attitude
- Team player with the ability to show initiative
- Demonstrated time management and ability to prioritise own workload
- Impeccable communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to quickly learn new computer systems
- Ability to work autonomously and under Supervision
To be eligible for this position, you must be able to reside in the Rockhampton region and be willing to undertake a Certificate III in Carpentry.
