Job description

To lead, manage and oversee the Rectification Delivery Team, in conducting governance and contract management of services providers engaged in the delivery of claims management services and Rectification Delivery associated with the QBCC Home Warranty Insurance Scheme. To investigate and participate in the ad hoc requests for reports or responses to matters raised by the Queensland Ombudsman or the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission. The position will need to build relationships across the organisation to develop, implement and manage systems, policies and procedures to improve, and maintain QBCCs service delivery outcomes for approved claims under the Home Warranty Insurance Scheme.Job details Position status Fixed Term Temporary

Access theThis position is based in Brisbane and flexible arrangements can be considered upon application, including working remotely at a Regional QBCC office subject to availability.Key Outcomes and AccountabilitiesThe aim of this role is to:

  • Deliver the implementation and management of all Service Provider contracts related to approved claims rectification under the Home Warranty Insurance Scheme
  • Support the Director, Rectification Delivery in contemporary procurement practices and contract management strategies related to claims management services providers and Quantity Surveyors for work related to Rectification Delivery.
  • Oversee and manage risks, consider and conduct (if necessary) contract negotiations, and prepare briefing notes, correspondence and sourcing documentation as required.
  • Build organisational capability and responsiveness by reviewing and reporting on Rectification Delivery data including KPI's/Performance Measures and Service Delivery Standards, and undertaking broader systemic related research including the preparation of briefs, reports and responses to requests for information.
  • Lead, cultivate, manage and sustain positive working relationships through effective communication with executives, key influencers, team members and stakeholders including industry associations and other relevant government and non-government agencies by being proactively responsive to customer and stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Actively maintain and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships that will lead to value for money for the QBCC and lower risk service provision.
Candidate Attributes * Analytical and problem solving - A positive, analytical and proactive approach to resolving problems and identifying improvement opportunities. Acquire and apply a strong conceptual understanding of the activities and operations of the QBCC with an ability to succinctly explain operational programs and issues, and ability to analyse and identify gaps with stakeholder expectations. Analyse current and historical information to inform decisions and identify any critical gaps and maintain awareness of recent developments that may impact on the business area and acquire best practice approaches.
  • Displays rigour in analysis - Demonstrated ability in providing strategic and operational advice that is rigorously considered, has regard to the perspective and interests of all stakeholders and is supported by a clear rationale for findings and recommendations. Gather and evaluate information to establish facts and reach new conclusions, specific to QBCC operational issues, legislation, and the building and construction industry.
  • Organisational Skills - Sound organisational skills and ability to meet flexible and demanding short term deadlines while maintaining discipline over delivery of ongoing work. Operate with a high degree of autonomy and discretion to communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to gather information and prepare advice. Work flexibly and effectively to manage new and unexpected events and use sound judgement about when to escalate issues.
