Your Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Lead the estimating team in preparing detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
- Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Implement and manage estimating software and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Review and assess potential project risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations.
- Monitor and report on project budgets, costs, and performance metrics.
- Train, mentor, and develop junior estimators within the team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting residential construction.
Skills and Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating within the residential construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing and leading an estimating team.
- Proficiency in Databuild.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
