Estimator (Joinery)

Cockburn Joinery Myaree is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented  Estimator to join our dynamic team. 

As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the estimating department, assisting with the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for joinery projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a passion for construction, an analytical mindset, and a desire to grow within a reputable joinery company.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Analysis:

• Collaborate with management to understand the scope and specifications of joinery projects.
• Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and project documentation to gather necessary information for estimating.

Cost Estimation:

• Utilise estimating software JoinerySoft to prepare accurate estimates for materials, labour, and other project-related expenses.
• Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Compile and organise all relevant data, including quantities, specifications, and pricing, into comprehensive estimates.
• Generate detailed documentation to communicate estimates to management.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project requirements and estimates.
• Participate in meetings to discuss project details and provide input on cost-related aspects.

Qualifications and Qualities:

• Experience using JoinerySoft is extremely desirable however on the job training can be provided to the right candidate.
• 3+ years in a similar role or a Certificate IV in Building Project Support (Estimator) is desirable.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and the ability to work within deadlines.
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the joinery industry.
