Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher of Year 7 – 9 Ethics and Religion. 

This is a part time (0.6FTE) Maternity Leave replacement position commencing 12 September and concluding 13 December 2024. Graduates are encouraged to apply.

Role Description:

  • Knowledge and interest in teaching about the various religions of the world
  • Ability to discuss matters of Ethics with adolescents
  • Use teaching strategies based on sound knowledge of students’ physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics to improve student learning
  • Contribute to the academic growth of each student through data informed practice
  • Actively engage in the School’s Thrive (Teacher Performance Development) Program
  • Establish and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with parents/carers regarding their children’s learning and wellbeing.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will: 

  • have skill and interest in teaching Religion and Ethics
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus time management skills
  • have knowledge and understanding of best practice in education
  • be skilled in creating a warm, welcoming and productive classroom environment
  • have the ability to foster and promote positive relationships with all stakeholders (students, colleagues, parents and the wider community)
  • have the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • be a role-model of lifelong learning
