About this role
You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and will contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.
Workforce Planning and Talent Development (WPTD) branch plans, develops, facilitates and evaluates health workforce strategies across the NSW health system, to improve health outcomes for the people of NSW.
The Event Project Officer plays a pivotal role in organising events within the WPTD Branch. While based in the Office of the Executive Director, this role works closely with all units across the Branch. The Events Project Officer works on events that bring together key stakeholders, healthcare professionals and the community.
Clerk Grade 7/8, starting salary from $106,025 – $117,363 p.a. (plus Super and annual leave loading), with a 35-hour work week.
This is a fixed term full time opportunity until Feb 2025 with good potential for extension. It based at St Leonards with flexible work practices.

What you'll be doing
- Coordinating and managing logistics for events, including booking venues, arranging catering, and liaising with suppliers.
- Developing and overseeing event registration processes, including ticketing and attendee communication.
- Collaborating with internal teams to create event materials such as agendas, presentations, and marketing collateral.
- Monitoring event budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost effective solutions while maintaining high standards.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Proven experience in event planning and coordination, with a keen eye for detail.
- A degree in event management or equivalent work experience.
- Strong organisational and project management skills including proficiency in using project management software with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and think creatively to solve problems.
- A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
