About the Role: Our client, a well-established leader in civil construction and vegetation management, is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Excavator Operator and Truck Driver to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for the successful execution of their civil construction projects and vegetation management operations, ensuring they are carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery safely and proficiently, performing routine checks and maintenance to ensure all equipment is in optimal working order.
- Drive heavy combination (HC) class vehicles to transport machinery and equipment to and from project sites, adhering strictly to traffic and safety regulations.
- Engage in various tasks related to civil construction and vegetation management, including site preparation, excavation, and clearing.
- Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
- Identify, report, and mitigate any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions encountered on site.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and securement of machinery and materials as needed.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive logs and records of vehicle maintenance, equipment usage, and job site activities.
Qualifications:
- A valid HC (Heavy Combination) driver’s licence is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in operating excavators and other heavy machinery within the civil construction or similar industries.
- A solid understanding of and adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the construction sector.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work across various sites and adapt to changing project demands.
