The Chief Operations Office (COO), Strategy and Risk team, as a newly established function, are responsible for leading strategy and governance across COO, and for ensuring consistent management of non-financial risk and controls across COO.
The Executive Manager, COO Strategy role is dedicated to designing and executing on the COO strategic roadmap and ensuring that all utilities and crews are aligned to delivering on COO’s strategic priorities

Do work that matters
The purpose of this role is to work across all the COO utilities and functions to develop COO’s strategic roadmap and narrative that connects COO to delivering on the Group strategy and purpose. The role will be responsible for ensuring COO stays abreast with emerging trends in the market and remains competitive in how strategic priorities are delivered.
Your Responsibilities
- To understand emerging market trends, especially with emerging technology such as AI, and how they can be leveraged to improve and deliver COO’s priorities.
- Collaborate across the Group Strategy, Technology and Data and Analytics practice to ensure the strategic imperatives of COO are aligned with the Group.
- To understand how COO’s activities are contributing to customer outcomes and build the strategy on how we communicate this contribution to key stakeholders.
- Understand how competitors and industry players are looking to use new technology in operations and explore options to ensure COO remains competitive.
- Contribute to thought leadership activities associated with developing options regarding the evolution of operations.
- Ensure all COO functions and teams are aligned strategically and are operating cohesively towards it.
- Own and develop the annual operating plans, funding and deliverables and benefits that will be driven from it annually.
- Experience working on strategy in Technology and in Operations teams.
- Demonstrated understanding and thought leadership relating to trends in emerging tech and how to apply them.
- Can communicate complex ideas clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) including the ability to document complicated matters in a clear, coherent and concise manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and work collaboratively across the Group and across COO.
- Eagerness to learn and ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about delivering on customer outcomes.
