AddressJob Opportunity: Experienced Curtain Sewer
We are seeking an Experienced curtain sewer to join our small but friendly team at Spring Crest Curtains and Blinds. This role offers 3 variable days per week, with the possibility of additional hours based on demand.
About Us:
Spring Crest Curtains and Blinds specializes in manufacturing custom-made curtains and soft furnishings, primarily for domestic installations. Our bespoke work is varied and interesting, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment.
Role Overview:
- Work Variety: Engage in sewing various types of curtains, including sheers, lined, and coated curtains, as well as sewn Roman blinds. You'll also have the opportunity to learn how to make new products like roller blinds.
- Work Environment: Our Southport premises offers plenty of free parking and is well serviced by public transport.
- Flexible Hours: Enjoy casual hours, above award rates (depending on level of experience) and flexible work days.
Position Details:
- Type: Casual
- Schedule: 3 days per week, with potential for more depending on demand
- Hours: 7am - 2pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Sewing expertise: Utilize your experience in sewing curtains in a commercial sewing room environment.
- Machine proficiency: Operate industrial sewing machines with skill.
- Quality, speed & eye for detail:: Demonstrate neat, accurate sewing skills at a fast pace.
- Autonomy & Teamwork: Work independently when required and take direction from our Workroom Supervisor.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Curtain Sewing Experience: Proven experience in a commercial setting. Must be experienced in curtain sewing.
- Industrial Sewing Machines: Familiarity and proficiency with flat sewer, overlocker & blind hemmer.
- Accuracy & Independence: Ability to work accurately and independently.
- Reliability & Time Management: Must be reliable with good time management skills.
- Technical Skills: Capable of reading, interpreting, and sewing from computer-generated worksheets.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in spoken and written English.
