AddressMogumber Park is a busy boutique thoroughbred stud which incorporates Olive Grove Equine Clinic on the property, and is located in Bullsbrook, 40 mins NE of Perth CBD and 25 minutes from the coast.
Home to 40+ resident mares, and standing two popular stallions, Mogumber Park is looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and eager to learn Experienced Stud Hand to work as part of, a small but dedicated team, looking after the horses’ best interests.
The successful applicant must have experience in all facets of a thoroughbred stud, including:
- Strong Horse handling skills especially with foals, weanlings and yearlings.
- Breeding season knowledge of reproduction and ability to work closely with veterinarians, farriers and management.
- Knowledge and ability to identify a variety of ailments and injuries.
- Several years experience in the thoroughbred industry
- Experience in preparing yearlings and weanlings for sale
- Be confident in handling and educating foals
- Ideally, will have experience in handling stallions
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Be able to work independently
- Be reliable, honest and have an excellent work ethic.
- This position would not suit a backpacker.
Mogumber Park is perfectly located for people who enjoy a rural setting with easy access to the city, wine areas and the beach. We offer a competitive remuneration package based on experience and have capacity to provide some flexibility in hours and rosters. Some weekend work is essential and the position is for a minimum of 25 hours, with the potential to expand to full time.
