We currently have a position available for an Experiencedor Senior Transformer Engineer to join our business as an Asset Engineer. Our team of asset engineers and specialists contribute to maintaining a safe and reliable network by providing technical expertise to procurement and ongoing lifecycle management of substation primary equipment. The successful applicant will have a detailed understanding of technical requirements of selection, installation and operation of new plant and specifically power transformers to support their role and will be responsible for acceptance of new plant, monitoring operational performance, interpreting conditional information and diagnosing failure events.
These activities will require:
- A strong understanding of Asset Lifecycle management principles
- Knowledge of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Hazard and Operability assessment (HAZOP), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Well-developed analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of legislated industry requirements (National Electricity Rules, ESCOSA, OTR, AEMO Guidelines) as well as relevant Australian and IEC standards as applicable to substation requirements including HV plant
- A strong understanding of power transformer design, manufacturing and relevant standards.
To be successful in these roles, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a relevant trades qualification, essential
- A minimum 5 years' experience (experienced) or 7+ years' experience (senior), in the design, installation / commissioning, operations or maintenance of Substation Primary Assets
- Experience in reliability engineering (statistical analysis)
- Member of or eligibility to obtain chartered status with Engineers Australia, desirable
- Experience in a High Voltage substation environment
- White Card training, desirable
