THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced Exploration Geologists to join the team at Ora Banda.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assist in targeting, planning and active participate in the execution of both project work and field programs, along with relevant reporting requirements
- Assist in the evaluation of all geological data; including all sample medium types, geophysical data, and geochemical data to identify potential mineralisation
- Ensure sample quality is maintained to the highest standard
- Conduct day-to-day supervision of drilling contractors; including the geological logging of samples, drill rig sampling practises by ensuring diamond core, RC & RAB sampling is done to company standards
- Perform geological mapping and sampling program for target generation and definition as required
- Ensure geological and department reporting and record keeping (Daily \ Monthly reports) is completed, correct and coherent
- Maintain geological databases to record and report on drilling, environmental rehabilitation and tenement activities
- Assist in management of departments resourcing during exploration & resource drilling programs
- Attend meetings as required
- Work as part of Exploration team in the discussion and review of exploration opportunities
- Work with other geologists and technicians to ensure operations are completed to the highest technical standards
- Conduct drill rig safety and environmental audits as required
- Minimise environmental disturbance when setting up and occupying drill sites
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Be passionate about being an Exploration Geologist
- Skilled in 3D mining and GIS software, preferably Micromine & Leapfrog and with exposure to exploration geostatistical packages (IOGAS or other)
- An understanding of Eastern Goldfields geology and Archaean gold lode systems
- An aptitude for exploration concepts and techniques
- An understanding of mining tenements, administration and OHS&E
- Concise and efficient at report writing and other geological documentation
- Class C WA manual driver’s licence
