As a Disability Support Worker (DSW) trainee, you will be part of a team that delivers compassionate care to people with intellectual disabilities. Whether it's providing companionship, helping with daily tasks, or supporting personal growth, you'll be creating the smiles that make a difference.How can you contribute?As a School-based DSW trainee, you'll engage in person-centred support, planning and participating in activities, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. All while completing your SACE. You will also:
  • Adapt your approach to meet participant needs and preferences
  • Encourage clients to make their own choices and decisions
  • Collaborate with your team to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery
  • Assist with personal care, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
Qualifications and attributesTo join us, you'll need the following:
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Right to work documents (Visa, Citizenship Certificate, Passport, Birth Certificate)
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
We're looking for trainees who are:
  • Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic
  • Flexible and adaptable (available to work three days a week during the traineeship)
  • Eager to learn and contribute to a supportive team
  • Passionate about caring for others
  • Can commit to a minimum of 7.5 hours per week
  • Enrolled in year 11 or 12
