GHD has rich expertise in assisting clients to deliver projects through Project Development, EPC, Owner’s Engineer, and technical due diligence for many wind farm projects across Australia and overseas. This is complimented by our team’s strong pedigree in the end-to-end power system design which includes renewables, battery energy storage, thermal generation, transmission, distribution, and future fuels. Strong growth nationally within our Future Energy business has created an opportunity for experienced Wind Engineers, with a range of locations to consider, to join a dynamic and professional team, who have been involved in the design and/or delivery of:

As well as numerous ongoing project developments across Australia and abroad. Working with a leading future energy team, this position offers great variety of projects, and will see you involved in:

Wind technical support to GHD renewable projects across Asia Pacific.

Providing specialised technical services to clients on wind farm projects, including:

Bankable wind monitoring campaign design, resource and energy yield assessments;

Wind farm layout concept designs, LCOE optimisation, site conditions, and construction-ability assessment;

Technical support into preparing wind farm technical specifications and EPC (or BOP+TSI);

Technical input into wind farm construction and commissioning including site inspections and factory visits;

Wind turbine technology technical appraisals & performance testing;

Wind farm operational performance and O&M audits;

Preparing wind farm feasibility studies and supporting environmental & planning assessments;

Leading and managing bankable wind farm technical due diligence projects;

Technical support during contract negotiations and financial close stages;

Mentor fellow staff in the use of wind modelling software, tools, and techniques;

Support with opportunities in Solar, Energy Storage, Hydrogen, and other complimentary projects and disciplines;

Further build on well-established client relationships, to understand and manage client needs and deliver projects on time and to GHD standards;

Collaborating closely with colleagues across the business locally, nationally, and internationally to deliver renewable projects;

Developing winning proposals and presenting them to a wide range of clients in the renewables industry;

What you will bring to the team:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, physics, meteorology, or mathematics Minimum 5 years’ experience with wind farm development and construction projects Proficient in either/or: WindPRO, WAsP, WindFarmer, Openwind, WindSim (or other CFD) Desired skills: Wind farm Owner’s Engineer activities Familiarity of wind conditions and turbine suitability as per IEC 61400-1 Knowledge of measurement and PCV testing as per IEC 61400-12 A desire to drive continuous improvement in desktop analysis and Owner’s Engineer site practices. Well-informed knowledge of site construction works for generation projects an advantage. Experience in solar and energy storage systems may be considered favourable. Interested? Apply now.
