About the Project - Byford Rail Extension
The Project’s general scope of works includes designing, procuring, manufacturing, constructing, installing and commissioning all rail infrastructure and ancillary works to support an electrified operational passenger rail between Armadale and Byford Stations.
Transport infrastructure works for the BRE Project include:
- Demolition of existing station.
- Construction of a new Byford station.
- Construction of approximately 8km of dual track narrow gauge electrified passenger railway line.
- Removal of level crossings.
- Construction of ‘rail over road’ and ‘road over rail’ bridges and roads.
- Parking areas, bus interchange and upgrade of local roads surrounding both Armadale and Byford stations.
About The Role – Working at Heights Marshall
We are currently seeking genuine Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced Working at Heightsprofessionals in the Perth southern suburbs for the METRONET Byford Rail Extension Project. This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Exhibiting a blend of leadership, communication, and technical skills, the successful applicant will play a critical role in upholding safety protocols, preventing accidents, and responding effectively to emergencies. You will work closely with the site Superintendent and Health & Safety Advisors, providing regular feedback on the compliance and adherence to the Working at Height requirements on site.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Erecting and/or changing non-scaffold Barricades to achieve intended purpose
- Reviewing permits, work area setup and controls for compliance with work at height requirements
- Travel the entire site to perform their role and review work at height activities.
- Attend Daily co-ordination meetings.
- Take direction from Supervision or Safety and provide guidance and support to Contractor Supervision and Crews.
Essential:
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- WA Construction Induction Card (white card) and a valid WA Driver’s Licence or other Photo ID
- At least 5 years demonstrated experience in civil/metro construction
- Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and regulations
- Working Safely at Heights certificate
- Demonstrated experience in scaffolding / EWP / Working at heights
Desirable:
- Tickets for EWP / Scaffolding / Rigging / Dogging, etc.
- Experience or background in WHS may be advantageous, but is not essential.
- May suit someone with a trade or stores background
