Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Collecting data in relation to mechanical assemblies for pipe production, conduct tests of assemblies, and install/set assembly for production of pipe that is within the required physical specification per designs/estimations.
- Test, monitor and maintain the quality of pipe throughout manufacturing process.
- Measure products with company supplied and approved equipment as per production specification sheet and ensure that they are within specification. If pipe is not within specification adjust machinery/plant to achieve specifications.
- Consider and estimate material quantities against machine capabilities and requirements.
- Collect and analyse data to continuously meet KPIs related to the production of pipe to meet business needs in a safe and efficient manner.
- Run the extruder and down-stream equipment to established condition and ensure pipe is packed to required standards and specifications
- Assist with inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.
- ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions.
- Create a culture of collaboration across the team to embed recognised best practice from across the manufacturing industry
- On an hourly basis ensure extrusion line runs to current settings and procedures as per production specification sheet. Work with Shift Supervisor to address any changes.
- Rectify problems to ensure minimum downtime on machines within scope of the role and ability.
- Prior to commencement of start-up ensure pre-start checklist is completed to ensure size change occurs as per production schedule.
- Ensure product is inspected, tested as per quality procedures.
- Release product only if product passes procedure requirements, with pipe and packing in accordance with specifications.
- Pre-start checks completed prior to starting a production line.
- Perform size changes to ensure production targets are obtained and efficiency is improved.
- Check PSS for correct tooling, ensure head/s are purged on start-up and shutdowns, minimise downtime on size changes, as per site SOP's.
- Minimise scrap generation, ensure head/tooling is cleaned and as per site SOP's
- All efforts are made to ensure production plans are met for delivery of product within required timeframes.
- Contribute to/support the coordination of staffing throughout shift to ensure continuous production of product.
- Contribute ideas to improve team performance.
- Participation and cooperation with quarterly develop plans and reviews.
- Attendance of programs and completion of training evaluation forms.
- Undertake responsibilities as required ensure compliance of 85% and above.
- Participate in identified learning and development programs, including opportunities to upskill, take on additional responsibilities related to the role for which capacity and competence exists, train and mentor new team members.
- Relevant Bachelor level qualification in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Current forklift license
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- High level of manual dexterity
- Demonstrated understanding of safe work practices, manual handling and workplace procedures
