Our Opportunity
Work Location: Anderson Point, Port Hedland - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: The roster is 8/6 FIFO ex. Perth as agreed by management; or 8/6 residential
We are looking for an advanced boilermaker to join our Port Structural Projects Team on an 8:6 Roster. This role will be responsible for general fabrication, structural repairs along with carrying out plant condition based inspections. The successful applicant will work alongside an apprentice and contracting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis such as ensuring that all works completed are adequately risk assessed and hazards mitigated and adequately controlled
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed in a timely manner to a very high quality
- Ensure all necessary maintenance inspections and audits of the site and related facilities are completed within allocated time frames
- Ensure all maintenance plans are completed and work is carried out in a timely and satisfactory manner and to a high quality
- Compliance to work management policies, ie notification creation, time confirmation, ordering consumables and closure of work orders upon job completion
- Step up Supervisor covering shutdown requirements and leave periods
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment
- Certificate III in engineering – Fabrication Trade
- Competency in SAP (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
- Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
- Conduct Field Interactions on work groups to promote safe work practices
- Self-driven, willing to be flexible and the ability to demonstrate initiative without Supervision
- Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- Current Driver’s License (C Class)
