Victorian Metal Traders is seeking a full time Metal Machinist (First Class), to join our Maintenance Team. At least 3 years’ experience as a Metal Machinist (First Class) is essential for this position. Prior experience working with machinery in the scrap metal industry would be considered essential to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to fabricate accurately.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Measure and cut materials to size, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications.
• The welding and assembling of structural components with detail and quality.
• Conduct quality checks to verify the integrity and functionality of finished products.
• Demonstrate ability to optimise production processes and streamline workflow.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, always adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a fabricator, or similar role in a manufacturing / steel industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including welding, cutting, and shaping.
• Strong knowledge and the use of variety of hand and power tools commonly found in fabrication workshops.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork and problem-solving.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the workplace.
