About the role
Our team has a wide-ranging portfolio, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on high profile local projects, as well as collaborate with our national and global facade teams. Our facades projects require an enthusiasm for problem-solving, creativity and a detail-focussed approach to your work and you will be provided with training and support within the team to upskill in this area. We work on multiple projects in parallel, in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment that encourages sharing of information and excellent communication.
What will I do?

• Collaborate with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams to assist in designing facades for aesthetic appeal, functionality, structural sufficiency, air tightness, waterproofing, durability and energy efficiency, gaining foundational knowledge in Facade Engineering.
• Undertake thermal and structural analysis / design of façade systems, with support from the senior members of our team.
• Assist in specifying facade materials / systems to meet minimum performance and code requirements, and integrate new research on the building envelope into our designs.
• Prepare design outputs and reports. These outputs may be via hand sketches, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up or Rhino as appropriate to your skill level and background, with a focus on technical accuracy and clarity.
• Undertake site inspections, supported by senior members of our team, to investigate quality and compliance with design specifications, and diagnose performance issues if they arise.

What will I bring?

• Recognised bachelor’s degree in structural, civil, mechanical, architectural or aerospace engineering, or similar areas.
• Engineering experience within a consulting business environment (minimum 2 years) - façade engineering experience is not mandatory, but a proactive approach to learning is required.
• Proficiency in Strand7, GSA or similar structural analysis software is strongly preferred, and basic competency in AutoCAD, Sketch-up or Rhino is beneficial, but not mandatory.
• An ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) and adapt your interpersonal style to connect with diverse stakeholders, fostering open dialogue and collaboration.
• Proven ability for continuous growth, quickly absorbing new knowledge and adapting to industry developments.
