If you answered yes, a fulfilling career awaits you in the Family Day Care industry. Family Day Care is a flexible, home-based childcare and education service that offers a safe, secure, caring and stimulating environment for young babies through to pre-teens.
Qualified Educators throughout Mildura Rural City Council (including the Mallee Track) and Wentworth Shire are carefully selected, supported and mentored by a Family Day Care Coordination Unit. Educators run their own small business and are contracted under Mildura Rural City Council Family Day Care Service.
What qualifications do you need?
Council provides orientation training, support and opportunities for ongoing professional development for all Family Day Care Educators. To be eligible to be a Family Day Care Educator, you are required to:
- Be 18 years of age and over.
- Hold a minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Complete Induction training.
- Have your home assessed for safety.
- Have a current national criminal record check and Working with Children Check.
- Have or willing to complete First Aid, anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate
