Our client is a leading Property, Litigation, Commercial, Corporate and Family law firm located in Brisbane. This is a firm that offers a progressive approach to resolving clients issues both commercially and pragmatically, adopting a modern approach with an emphasis on new technologies in the delivery of an efficient service to clients in an ever changing marketplace.
The Family Law team focus solely on Family Law matters every day. They are experts in the field currently with three Queensland Law Society Accredited Family Law Specialists, which ensures delivery and results of an exceptionally high standard. Specialising in Family Law means they can advise on even the most complex Family Law related matters, and can provide advice in regards to one, or a combination of the following:
- Divorce applications and representation at divorce hearings;
- Child custody and parental arrangements for children within Australia (including custody and parenting arrangements for grandchildren);
- International parental disputes (including those involving Hague Convention), international child abduction;
- Child Support;
- De facto and marital property settlements (including property settlements involving international assets);
- De facto and marital spousal maintenance agreements;
- Drafting parenting orders, consent orders, and various financial settlement documents;
- The drafting of pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements (if you and your de facto partner have not separated and do not intend to separate but wish to agree on terms in the event of future separation);
- Domestic violence disputes, including:
- defending an application;
- lodging an application; and
- representation at the hearing of a domestic violence protection order application at the Specialist Domestic and Family Violence Courts.
Key responsibilities:
- Drafting and amending correspondence and Court documents
- Filing Court documents electronically and in person
- Brief preparation
- Transcribing dictations
- Providing general office support
To be considered for this role, you will have
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with Practice Evolve would be ideal
- Excellent file management skills
- An ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team when required
- Exceptional verbal and communication skills
- Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills including ability to prioritise tasks and compete deadlines
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to take initiative
- Ability to meet budgetary expectations
