Job description

The role

Reporting to the Centre Manager, this position will work within the Diffuse Program; a seven-session program using trauma-informed practices that provides resources, tools and information to participants, created for incarcerated and non-incarcerated individuals. Designed to address the definition of family violence, providing opportunity for reflection on relationship experiences and exploring and expanding self-awareness around communication and forming and maintaining healthy relationships. 

Your responsibilities include conducting telephone psycho-social assessments regarding the safety and well-being of affected family members, and you are also an information and referral source for women and children’s immediate and ongoing safety and psycho-social needs.

This full-time position will be across our Kew and Boronia Centres and the successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2024 with the possibility of permanent employment if funding contracts renewed.

About you

  • Degree in social work, counselling, psychology, or a related social science discipline.
  • Completion of Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Risk Management (MARAM) Framework training.
  • Previous demonstrated experience of a commitment to advocating and enhancing Family Safety and to living non-violently.
  • Significant experience working with parents and children affected by family violence.
  • Knowledge of the processes of Men’s Behaviour Change group work. 
  • Candidates with demonstratable skills, from previous experience with organisations and or culturally diverse client groups, staff and workforces or stakeholders are highly valued at RAV.

The base salary range is $92k - $99k per annum.
